It takes place every year in Lindoso, the celebration of Pai Velho.
It finds its roots in the pagan and religious tradition, emerging as a celebration ritual at the arrival of spring.
On the mornings of Gordo Sunday and Carnival Tuesday, near the community threshing floor and the granaries and also near the Medieval Castle, Pai Velho (wooden bust) is transported in an ox cart, accompanied by concertina sweeps, drums, tools and castanets, not to mention the masks of revelers, disguised with traditional costumes.
At midnight on Tuesday the Old Father is buried and the will is read.
O Parque Cerdeira provides its customers with a visit to Lindoso to attend the event.
Registration must be confirmed at least 1 day in advance.
