Mountain Heritage
Guided by Rui Barbosa, we will understand better why Tude Sousa described the form, or hut, that the shepherds still use today to collect and shelter.
They are crude, light constructions of dry stones, generally poorly arranged, some covered and others not clods, covering the gaps. Covered with round tiles, Portuguese style; others covered with clod, garnishing wide and thin stones. Its dimensions and capacity are not large: 2 to 2,50 meters high, 2,50 and 3 meters long, with low doors, where the man passes curved and does not enter through the cattle. Three to six, or eight people, is the maximum that will fit them.
In 4 different walks, the Parque Cerdeira takes you through the Serra do Gerês, inside the National Park, in search of the heritage built on the mountain and that serves the local communities ancestrally. We will visit 32 corrals, with the typical shepherd’s huts and also emblematic places in Gerês, such as Pé de Cabril, Meadows, Borrageiro, Arado waterfall, Poço Azul and Mata da Albergaria, in addition to the Via Romana.

Conditions
The groups will consist of 9 participants (plus the guide / author).
The walk is confirmed 3 days in advance and depends on weather conditions and the number of participants (minimum 6). At this point, specific recommendations are given about the event.
Registration at the Reception Parque Cerdeira.
This activity is not recommended: pregnant women, people with obesity or with medical contraindications; people under 10 and over 65;
Recommended material: Use of comfortable and adequate clothing (pants must be worn); advisable to wear boots and cut wind; sunscreen and cap; lunch wheel and water; Camera;
Included services: Guide service, civil liability and personal accident insurance and use of the sanitary facilities of the Parque Cerdeira for shower.
Complementary services: Possibility to execute the program to measure, with the inclusion of complementary services, namely going to the hot thermal waters, dinner and overnight.
